Although the film was released in 2011, it has risen to popularity this year. The storyline revolves around how the death of Beth Emhoff and her son leads to the discovery of a deadly virus outbreak which could cost the lives of millions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the storyline\u2019s similarity with current events, \u201cContagion\u201d was the seventh most popular movie on iTunes on Friday, the 6th of March, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28 Weeks Later<\/u><\/strong><\/a>, a 2007 release Horror\/Sci-Fi film also fits well with the current situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Guardian, \u2018All viruses accumulate mutations over time and the virus that causes COVID-19 is no different.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team behind the research of the Corona Virus strains confirmed that the \u201cL\u201d strain of the virus is more aggressive and could have a deadlier impact on the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sudden deaths and disappearances of young people shock the nation and wreaks havoc in the minds of the officials. The series is based on officials being determined to figure out what is causing the deaths of youngsters. To be able to battle against it and stop it from becoming the disaster, they need to figure out the cause of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the first part of the film, each sequel only shows how the virus caused a pandemic and effected most living creatures, and turning them into zombie-versions of their species. Each sequel\u2019s storyline progresses by depicting the intensity of the virus\u2019s outbreak and how it has wiped off majority of the world\u2019s population. However, there is constant emphasis on the Umbrella Corporation – which the lab research center where the virus outbreak took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An article covered by the New York Post, titled \u201cDon\u2019t buy China\u2019s story: The coronavirus may have leaked from a lab\u201d also mentioned that Chinese leader Xi Jinping, after the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, stated that they need to contain the coronavirus and need to prevent such outbreaks in the future. To this, he later added that a national system to control bio-security risks must be put in place as \u201clab safety\u201d is a general safety issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2007 film, “<\/strong>I am Legend<\/u><\/strong><\/a>“, Robert Neville; played by Will Smith is a scientist and the last human survivor of the plague that hit New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is depicted to be immune to the virus that caused the collapse of an entire city and probably the world. The film portrays the life of a sole survivor as he hunts for food and basics during the day, and sends out desperate radio messages in hopes for another survivor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation in most cities that have been struck by the corona virus is a mirror image of the film. The entire city of Wuhan had been locked down and each family was allowed to send a single family member to bring back groceries weekly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Will Smith manages to reverse the effects of the virus, the world stands in solidarity with the victims of the coronavirus and scientists worldwide have been working to find a cure of the infection that has claimed the lives of 3,522 people.
